The dictionary defines the word beauty as the quality that gives pleasure to the mind or senses. After my experience at Cara Linda Pretty Faces and More, I can honestly say that Linda Lopez uses her expertise to create a beautiful and pleasurable experience for her clients.

Cara Linda is an esthetics studio located in a quaint cottage in the heart of Summerville.   As an esthetician, Linda strives to provide her clients with personalized service that leads to superb skin health and beauty.  She has merged her two passions; caring for people and skin care to provide each client with visible results that will make a difference in their lives.

Walking into the cottage is like entering your own personal spa.  No one else is around to disturb your experience, no phones are ringing, no clocks pressed for time.  You see, Linda only schedules four appointments each day in two hour blocks to allow for your own personal pampering session.

Several services are available and include the most technologically advanced treatments in a spa environment.  They range from custom facials, to gentlemen’s facial, to microdermabrasion, to chemical peels, anti-aging treatments and LED treatments.  These LED, light emitted diode treatments use a photo rejuvenation process to provide you with the best remedy for aging and other skin issues. The lights turn cells over five times faster than normal. There are two different LED lights; a red and a blue one.  The red light fights aging and diminishes the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation spots.  While also increasing elasticity and firmness, creating a more tighter and radiant look.  The blue light helps in treating roseacea, broken capillaries, large pores and acne.  These light treatments act as a healing tool.  They are painless and provide improvement after the first treatment.  Linda specializes in treating acne and has successfully helped many faces.

One of the unique features of Cara Linda is the skin scope.  This is an interactive woods lamp that allows you and the esthetician to see any underlying damage to your face.  I was shocked to see what my future skin will look like if I do not take the appropriate actions to protect and treat it now.  Linda educated me in the importance of daily sunscreen use and what two ingredients are vital to sunscreen effectiveness.  I also discovered that sunscreen is only good for one year and should be replaced every summer to receive its full benefits.  Several different moisturizing products containing sunscreen are available at Cara Linda.  I have always stayed away from products that contain sunscreen because of the negative breakout effect on my skin.  After sampling one of the products available at Cara Linda, I have been converted.

I must tell you that receiving a facial at Cara Linda was amazing!  I have had the experience of several facials in my life, including the privilege of one at a Golden Door Spa in Arizona.  My facial at Cara Linda was even more wonderful than the one I experienced in Arizona; which I never thought could be topped.  The atmosphere was so relaxing that I had to fight falling asleep, twice! The facial included an arm, hand, neck and head massage that left my body in a complete state of relaxation; something very few other facial experiences have included.  My skin felt flawless and even days after, is continuing to reap the benefits.  Afterwards, Linda used a mineral foundation, blush and lip gloss that left me ready to face my day.  I fell in love with the foundation instantly and the lip gloss was the perfect color.  She also sent me home with a sample of Kiss Me Mascara.  I was back the next day to purchase one, it is marvelous! 
Other special services are available.  You can choose from a backcial for the hard to reach areas of the back, neck and shoulders.  This treatment will relieve tension, remove impurities and smooth the skin.  Facial waxing is also offered for the brow, chin, lip or the entire face. The experience of a perfect bath in a porcelain tub infused with a fragrant essential oil of your choice surrounded by candlelight and the sounds of nature while you melt away is a wonderful addition to any service.  A paraffin hand treatment with a rich body butter massage, a Dead Sea salt scrub and a dip into paraffin wax that will leave your hands and senses feeling great.  A European rose mud foot retreat that will leave your feet as soft as a petal is an appointment I don’t want to miss.

I have found a place that I will take pleasure in often.  I highly recommend everyone to discover this true spa experience that also leads to healthy skin.  As Linda always says, “healthy skin is beautiful skin!”
